REACHING OUT TO HELP OUR COMMUNITIES

At Armenta Learning Academy, we believe that with success comes responsibility. Successful people create successful communities by giving of their time, effort and expertise to programs and organizations that are working to make our world a better place. Whether is it a local effort of beach clean up, or a National organization like Second Harvest everything we do to help makes it that much better for everyone. Below are listed some of the organizations that ALA supports.

Families Forward

Families Forward is a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping low-income and homeless families in need. Families Forward addresses families' needs at any point in their crisis by providing a broad spectrum of services, including: housing, counseling, food, education, case management, life-skills training and rent and utility assistance.

Kids Konnected

Kids Konnected's mission is to provide friendship, understanding, education, and support for the children who have a parent with cancer, or have lost a parent to cancer. Children facing the same fears and similar experiences can be helped by others in a similar situation. Kids helping Kids is what we're all about. With “Kids Konnected” you don't have to be alone anymore!

Joyful Child Foundation in memory of Samantha Runnion

The Joyful Child Foundation's first initiative, Samantha's PRIDE, is a community awareness and child watch program, focused on protecting and sharing the joy of childhood. Additional goals of the Foundation include the implementation of after school programs, and the support of other nonprofit organizations in the prevention of child abuse and abduction.

Olive Crest Home for Abused Children

Olive Crest was founded in 1973, and today, over 30 years later, Olive Crest has grown to become a leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse. They serve children from birth to age 18, young adults age 18-22 and at risk families. Each day, there are over 600 youth residing in Olive Crest homes, and it is their goal to provide each child/teen a sense of hope and enthusiasm as they begin the upcoming school year. Your contribution to Olive Crest's Education Fund or “Back to School” Gift Drive can help a child reach their dreams.

We are proud to announce a group newly added to our support family.

Pacific Marine Mammal Center

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline and to increasing public awareness of the marine environment through education and research.

The PMMC is our Summer School outreach recipient. However, we will accept donations year round for this worthy cause.

In addition to these organizations, ALA also participates in the Mission Viejo Walk Against Drugs in October, Jackets of Love which collects jackets for the homeless, Operation Thank You to support our troops and local beach clean up to help keep our beaches beautiful for everyone.

We are always interested in learning of and supporting groups that our students and their families are involved in. If you have a group you support and would like to share with us, give us a call or send an e-mail and we will be happy to learn about your group.
